Anna smiled at him. Cade seemed to be getting into it. "Yes - I'm creating a creature called an Emotion Spirit of which her spirit of calm is one - a specific NPC that Evie can interact with and is housed in her talisman."
Anna put down her wallet and looked at Cade as he explained his flaw buster. She wanted him to know she was paying attention. "Flaws are important because that is what makes the character interesting. That's a good one! I really like it."
She thought about things some more. "I can't think of any more important relationships Evie should have - at least not important enough to make an NPC at this time. Can add one later if I need to. But she needs spells. I think she'll have a ritual that she uses to keep her calm spirit in the talisman, but she needs more. I'm thinking a fire spell for attack, something defensive, a heal, and then the one she uses to get help from the spirit." She grinned at Cade. "Getting close to play time at least. I'm looking forward to it. Should be fun!" She paused and her eyes widened as she snapped her fingers. "Oh - don't forget the personal quests. Evie has an old tome that belonged to her father that she's trying to find out about. Mick will need a quest too!"
Cade thought about a few things and nodded. "I think Mick's quest is going to be to avenge his parents death, but he doesn't really know anything about it so there is still a lot to learn."
"So I think I have everything here about Mick. Where do we want to start? How do we meet?" Cade thought maybe they run into something common at the hopsital and want to investigate, but he wasn't exactly sure what. "We need to have some common thread to follow -- the meeting place is easy since she's a nurse and he's a detective. They meet in the ER with a patient who's a suspect a vicitim -- something."
Anna nodded
”Thats a good quest - and having something to learn to make it happen makes the game more fun. Starting at the hospital also makes sense. I’ll get the scene started and we can go from there.” she sent some apps to Cade’s wallet. [color=#c0ffee]”Apps that are good for game, like a dice roller and oracle. All right - to set the scene - I’ll roll the scene level.”
Evelyn Murphy Wrote:Scene level = 1d4+2, roll a 1, 1+2=3
The VA hospital was faulty quiet. Some patients sat in the waiting room, while others met with Doctors or nurses. The ER portion of the hospital had a wide variety of patients. Evelyn Murphy - a young woman was a nurse. She stood fairly tall she wore a white dress with a white hat and tights. Red hair peaked out under her cap. She was working with a patient who had been injured the night before. Foul play was suspected, so she assumed a cop would be arriving shortly. She wasn’t looking forward to that. The patient needed rest, not to be questioned. She sighed as she began to take his vitals and as she finished her hand went to the rosary in her pocket as she whispered a prayer for him - as she did for every patient she worked with.
Cade listened to the set up and he knew that he should go talk to the guy but he didn't know what questions to ask.
"So Mick walks in to the VA he doesn't know who he's looking for so he'd ask the front desk. They'd of course point him to the right guy since they'd know or could look it up right?' It was mostly a rhetorical question.
"He clocks the cute nurse but doesn't say anything. But Kshani is always there. I'm gonna roll to see if the little shadow has anything to say. I feel he might." He looked to Anna who just smiled at him encouragingly.
"An oracle roll DC 15 it says."
Quote:**Oracle**
Does Kshani have any smart comments to say about the cute Nurse Mick clocked?
DC 15 → 9 » No, but
Cover, Implicate, target
"So that's a No, but he does make a snide comment about having to talk to yet another vicitm that will probably cover for whoever attacked them. Mick approaches and introduces himself. 'Detective Mick Steele.' he says to no one imparticular. Can I ask you a few questions?"
Anna smiled as he took his turn. Then continued.
”Evelyn doesn’t answer right away. Her eyes are closed and her hand still on her rosary as she finishes her prayer. She crosses herself and then turns to face Mick. I’m curious to see if they had crossed paths in their tours of Korea, so let’s see.”

DC 15 → 12 » Yes, but
Slice, Celebration, Uninterested
Anna smiled
”Interesting - they did. Crossed paths doesn’t mean they really knew each other but may have seen each other. I think they met at some sort of celebration - maybe a holiday celebration at her unit or while on leave. I think her unit - maybe Mick had gotten cut at the party and she treated it. She was uninterested in developing more because she’s professional. As long as you’re okay with it that is. Because of that I’m gong. To interpret it as she doesn’t really remember but he looks familiar. She looks at Mick, blinks and speaks, not yet asking about whether she knows him or not. ‘You can ask him questions if he would like. Sir,’ she says to the victim. ‘The detective would like to ask you some questions about your incident. Would that be okay?’ The victim nods and she turns back. ‘Ask - but be gentle. He needs rest.”
