The two would work out the details, so Drayson gave the pair an encouraging nod then returned to Mr Mikhailov, leaving Ivan and Akantha to work out the details of their cooperation. The woman seemed knowledgeable of the tunnels, and Ivan had proven himself capable enough to keep himself out of too much trouble. He had learned a valuable lesson, and Drayson was confident he wouldn't make the same mistakes again.

Kneeling with Mr Mikhailov and the unconscious Italian, Giovani, Drayson radio'd in to the task force for an ETA, and signaled to Ivan that their help was fifteen minutes out. Mr Mikhailov was surprisingly calm with the whole situation; the man had been long aware there were things in the tunnels under Moscow, and like many had been smart enough not to make a big thing of it. No one was likely to have believed him in the past, and it would simply have cost him his job.

Instead, by remaining quiet about it, he had been able to keep his position, and through that post, had been able to help prevent any serious issues rising between city workers and the things that he had always been scared were down there. The decision had proven justified. Just knowing that there were police officers that believed the same things he did was a huge weight off his shoulders. The man would probably retire in the next year, and could do so happily.
Her entire body tensed. His off handed comment was both an insult and too close to the truth; and her eyes made no attempt to hide her distaste of him. For a moment, before she regained her self control, Akantha's slit pupils focused on the young man as they had done upon many of her prey. Men and Naga alike had cowered at the intensity of her glare, momentarily held in place by the hypnotizing fear.

"You would be wissse to hold your tongue."
She didn't finish the rest of her thought, though she really didn't think it would have been necessary. Her tone said enough. "Wordss like dussk and dawn mean little down here, but I know your meaning. I will find you."

Drayson left the two of them and walked over to the others. She looked past Ivan towards him before focusing on the younger man once more. Softly, so as to keep her words from traveling past Ivan's ears, she hissed at the man. "Do not fail me, ape-man, I've eaten bigger thingsss than you."

With that, she turned to leave and disappear down the darker tunnels.

Xena was all about the attitude. She had to make sure that Ivan knew that she was top dog...well, to snake anyway. Whatever. She'd learn soon enough. He wasn't any great shakes in High School biology, but he was pretty sure that the primates had been way ahead of the snakes on the intelligence scale.

So she could call him all the names she wanted. Primate. Ape. Super-stud. Whatever. He was Ivan. And he would get the job done. Period. She was funny though. Eating guys like him. She wished. She was a big woman. Course he liked a challenge. Good comeback. He'd give her that. He was curious as to what she looked like behind those wraps. She was in shape. He hoped that she was still feminine. Nothing worse than a woman with too much testosterone, natural or artificial, in their system. Wide jaws and gap teeth. And Xena had the strength, after all.

Still, he looked forward to the hunt. "Don't you worry, Xena. I'll be here. And we'll take care of your monster problem. You won't have to eat me at all."
He stopped himself before saying anymore. Sometimes having a smart mouth could get him in trouble. He hoped people appreciated all the ways that he didn't piss them off with his little jokes. He was sure that a comment about 'eating him' would not have been appreciated by Xena.

He went to Drayson and eventually the ambulance came. The Italian was loaded up. Later the monster recovery team, or whatever Drayson called it, showed. Soon, the tunnels were cleared. He found himself alone, wondering whatever had happened to the girl who'd run away. He hope she was ok.
