MInutes of his life washed away like blood dripping from his palm. Minutes wasted, like their time. The others shuffled, uneasy in the interim. Soon, even Eli ceased studying the broken ice. His gaze sharpened as it wandered. A cold crept through his clothes, but before the disappointment clenched his mind, he plucked his uncle's Wallet from a pocket. To hell with solitude. With helplessness. This was the spot the Americans investigated. Bodies were still frozen along the riverbanks. They had seen something in the water. Melt it.
