- Calvin - 01-09-2015

Calvin took the cards that she gave him and looked over the information. He felt like he had made some good progress today. It was a good feeling. The desire to drink was still there. He had hoped that it would go away. Thankfully the next AA meeting was soon. Hopefully he would be okay until then. Even though he felt better, he could still feel the internal struggle.

Calvin was a little disappointed that she couldn't help him with the dreams either. He'd probably have to talk to the wolves about it then. He didn't know who to turn to with Dawn Wind gone - maybe some time out in the open would do him good with the wolves would be good. Inside he smiled at that - a camping trip with wolves.

"Thank you again doctor. I'll set up another appointment for next week so we can talk about my AA meeting. We can move on from there."

Calvin shook her hand and said goodbye before exiting the office. He stopped by the reception desk to set up another appointment and left to go home. The struggle continued when he got home. He knew where the bottle of whiskey was. He found the pictures of his family that he had stashed away so he wouldn't feel them looking at him. The depression came back, trying to force him to think the thoughts he had thought before, but Calvin used their pictures as something to give him strength.

Calvin went to the cabinet. A lone bottle of whiskey sat there and Calvin pulled it out. He slowly opened the bottle. He could smell the liquor and it called to him. The depression demon inside of him screamed for the liquid. Calvin looked at the pictures of his parents and his wife and son again. He could hear the words in his head - telling him that they were ashamed of him. Calvin drew strength from the pictures and spoke back to it.

"Well, now they are going to be proud of me."
Before he could change his mind, he poured the contents of the bottle down the sink.
