Uncovering the Past
#13
John didn't waste any time getting his shit together. He grabbed his wallet and started making calls. His first call was to his people at the Smith Foundation in Houston. "There has been a change of plans. I will be needing some of our contractors over here a soon as possible. I want a twelve man security team, staff for a house, and I need someone who is fluent in Russian and has public relations qualifications. If you feel that I need any other specialists, send them. I trust your judgement and discretion."

Then he called his realtor to confirm that she did indeed get him that house. John told her that he wanted to begin moving in two days. To sweeten the pot he offered a 20,000 dollar bonus for each day she saved him. After all, the only use for money was to spend it and each day she saved him from waiting was a step forward on his mission.

Next was arranging a state of the art computer system to be delivered to his soon to be new address. That and getting the proper environmental controls for his library. It looked like he might move more of his original works to Moscow. Maybe he could recruit Jensen into giving him assistance in some of his translations and research. The man was obviously more than he seemed. Maybe he could help Jensen reconcile with his past.

John was having trouble containing his excitement. Those new cuneiform tablets were probably going to have a dramatic impact on his near future. He was sure that they were transported across the world to hide their contents. It was an impossible undertaking considering when this voyage had to take place. the only logical motivation was being more afraid to stay than to risk the open sea. But what was so damn important that it was sealed in such a way that it could survive for thousands of years while buried under over a mile o the sea?

John sat down with his favorite English Bible that he affectionately called 'Jimmy'. The prose writing style of the King James Bible was soothing. The passage that opened to him was 1 Corinthians 4. As he finished the section, he stopped in mid-sentence. Staring at 1Cor4:20, "The kingdom of God is not of word, but of power."

Not of word, but of power? But what power do I have available to me?

It was time to return to the Dream.
