While wandering and before she was taken, she came in contact with an entity that offered her what she wanted - power and vengeance. This entity was ancient and called itself Cthulhu. Offered power to lead more souls for Cthulhu to feed on, she took it (Great Old One Warlock). After all - some people just want to see the world burn.
