Into the Darkness

Seconds passed and Jay grew impatient. He grumbled to himself when it became clear the Atharim weren’t going to run. He tossed a few flashes of fire at their feet, flashing some sparks that would sting like hell if struck true until they were forced a few steps back.

But it was then that a force of power surged from behind. The screeches of carnage echoed from the tunnel, and Jay knew he was needed quickly. He turned to run back, leaving the Atharim to flee or stay and die.
