She glanced casually at the Dreadlord’s approach. “High walls does not a city make,” she corrected, but there was a hint of pride in her tone. She would prefer to lead the flows herself, but without another woman to Link, it would not be possible, and there were no women she trusted to bring her.

She glanced at the Samma once more. She’d not properly met one up close. Until recently, she believed these dark Aiel to be myth, but it seemed there was much to the White Tower’s education that was lacking when it came to the ways of the Shadow.

“And what do they call you?” She wasn’t confident she would remember the name long, but at least while he was present, she could think of him as something other than red-veil. “Amogorath has been insufferably boring,” she said without fear of being overheard. It was a small test to see what tones he might tolerate, but so far, he didn’t so much as glance up. If he over heard, perhaps he really was as much a coward as she’d been led to believe.

“Perhaps you’ll be more entertaining.”
