Jackson and Noah were helping everyong carry their things from their rooms downstairs so the adults could all have the beds -- there would be sharing of them as there still weren't enough rooms but it was only for the night. And the kids, all liked having a sleep over anyway. Not that any of them had really had one, but sleeping on the floor wasn't foreign to any of them -- except maybe Marta and Sterling and the Blackthorne girls, but they seemed the most eager and wanted to bring all their stuffed animals they'd accumulated over the short period of time they'd been with Nox. They had less things than the foster kids did now, but Jackson and the rest of the foster kids had way more now than they had months ago. And they were safe -- Liam was turning 18 even and they weren't preparing him for food. That had been the worst part of everything -- knowing he'd never see the day after his 18th birthday.

Marta and Sterling came down stairs while he and Noah were carrying some of Arabella's stuffed animals so she didn't trip and fall trying to lug them all down stairs -- they were all almost all bigger than she was. Marta said heya and Jackson had to do a double take. She was wearing make up and a dress and he froze in place unable to speak or to move. He watched her walk down the stairs and out of sight around the corner.

Noah nudged him. "Go talk to her. Give her a kiss, tell her she's beautiful." Jackson looked over at his brother and frowned. Noah grinned. "You got this. It's not like you are luring her to the family. She's already here. And everyone is safe. No sex. No death. Nothing bad is going to happen."

Jackson sighed but nodded. It was daunting walking down the stairs with a handful of Ara's toys and seeing Marta chatting with Sterling.

"Yeah, let's help them, then snacks." Sterling said.

Jackson put Ara's things next to where her bedding was laid out -- the princess ella things were completely and only hers. And then he went over to Marta and tapped her on the shoulder. "Can I talk to you a second?" He nearly choked on his words as he nodded his head away from everyone else.
