What's Wrong?

The group got to Nox's place. It was a large building, and Elyse had no idea that he had owned it. She couldn't beat the location though. She was a walking distance away from work. There was a store and diner nearby. She had everything she needed nearby. It would probably be best for her to stay in the vicinity of their secure perimeter. She would still be able to venture out, but without a reason to, it would probably be best.

The got into the foyer and a voice spoke to them. Sky - some sort of AI, she guessed. A virtual personal assistant. Either way, Sage had notified the whatever it was that she was coming. Not only that, it responded to Mae's questioning. "Okay...thanks, Sky!" She said in response to the voice.

Elyse pointed out to the others what she wanted to keep her...mostly her clothes and her weapons crate. She had a few books in her bag for entertainment, and she could easily get more if she wished. The food could go to the kitchen, wherever that was. Well - that was easy enough to find.

"Sky - I have some food and dishes that can be used here. Where is the kitchen so we can take that there?"

She instructed one of the guys to take those there and took the rest to the elevator. They rode the elevator to the third floor and Elyse took the empty room closest to the elevator. She also saw the room where "Miss Mara" was supposed to live, but decided now wasn't a good time to introduce herself. Mae and Anna had accompanied her, carrying some stuff, and Elyse helped the other guard with her weapons crate. It wasn't long before everything was taken care of. The guards went to take care of their security work in the building, and Elyse was left with her girlfriend and friend.

Elyse turned first to Anna, "I'm sorry, Anna, could you give me a minute or two alone with Mae." Anna nodded an encouraging smile on her face and she stepped out, closing the door.

Elyse turned to Mae, wrapping her in a hug and giving her a passionate kiss that lingered. She finished the kiss, breathing heavily and rested her forehead against Mae. "Thank you," she said. "The last couple of months since I started at Kallisti and started seeing you have been the best of my life. All day, all I could think about was losing all of that. Thanks for sticking with me through this." Elyse kissed her again and pulled Mae into a tight embrace, conveying her gratitude more than the words she had spoken could describe. "I know you have to go to work tonight. I'll ask Anna to stay with me until you get back. I don't want to be alone right now, and I'm not ready to meet my housemates yet I don't think."

Anna just knew that this place was a fortress.  Sure it looked like a normal building, but she knew that security was out the wazoo here. Cameras were probably everywhere.  Anna could have sworn she saw drones in the area as they arrived. They were close to Kallisti, a walk would take them there. She knew Nox was in charge of security, and he sure as hell took it seriously.

Anna, slightly startled by the AI, ignored it as much as possible.  She just didn't like talking to something that wasn't a living thing.  It just seemed odd.  She kept focused on the work, getting Elyse's stuff to her new room.  Elyse then asked her to step out and give her some time alone with her girlfriend.  It wasn't a surprise for Anna.  Anna knew that the reason Elyse was probably calm now was due to Mae's intervention.  She really had calmed down a lot.

Anna went into the hall and shut the door behind her, and for good measure crossed the hall to the other side.  Mae was on shift tonight and likely would be leaving soon so she doubted the pair were getting too intimate at this point, but Elyse needed this, and Anna didn't mind.  Anna thought about Elyse's father.  What kind of sick fuck would kill his own daughter? Elyse hadn't done anything except...exist!? Hell, weren't these kind of things genetic.  Wouldn't he be culpable too?

Anna turned her thoughts to happier ones, and right now, that was Cade.  She pulled out her wallet, wanting to text him, but not wanting to seem pushy or desperate. She had only met him today, what was the rule - three days. She sighed - it was a stupid crush - but one he seemed open to at least in the future.

Anna took a deep breath, pushing the thoughts from her mind.  Sometimes she just felt like an idiot.  Whatever, it would all pass.  She turned her head to the ceiling, closed her eyes and breathed calming breaths in and out.  "What is wrong with me?" she thought out loud.  Her eyes opened suddenly wondering if the creepy AI could hear her here. That was an odd thing.  Was Big Brother watching?

Mae smiled and returned the loving gestures. It was nice, but there was more that could be done, but she had to get back to the club now. "I'm here." she kissed Elsye again, it lingered for a while longer. "I should go. I don't want to but I'll be on in a few and I need to get dressed." She kissed Elyse again. "I'll be here after my shift." Mae didn't linger long and opened the door. "Don't let Nox's brood scare you, they are all really sweet."

Anna was waiting outside looking up at the ceiling Mae grinned. "I give it three days after Nox's gets back before Sky is hooked into Kallisti's security system."

Anna was taken out of her thoughts by Mae exiting the room. Mae approached her, knowing she was thinking about the AI because she immediately mentioned it. Anna shivered.

"I guess I'll have to get used to it then," she laughed and approached Mae, giving her a hug. "Thanks for helping Elyse and talking with me about a few of my insecurities." Anna released the hug. "I'll stay here with her until you get back or she kicks me out. Break a leg tonight. You'll do great as always! Anna smiled and waited until Mae left before entering the room with Elyse.

"Want me to stick around?"

Mae left and the scent of her lingered in the room. The kiss left her wanting more...much more, but Mae had responsibilities tonight. Elyse hoped she wasn't too tired when she got back. She smiled - Mae wouldn't be. She knew that. It wasn't long before Anna came in and asked if she should stay.

"I'd really appreciate that," Elyse said. "I don't really want to go out yet and meet other people, but I don't want to be alone either."

Anna nodded and sat down on the bed. "Okay - I'm hear until Mae gets back or you get tired of me."

Elyse laughed, and pulled out her wallet to check her messages. She had only one from Carmen saying that she understood and to reach out if she needed anything. It was another reason why she felt more accepted at Kallisti. Elyse debated sending a message to Nox to thank him and to tell him she was sorry she brought this mess into his lap, but she decided to wait. She'd tell him later. She needed to decompress.

"So how did things go after I left, anyone stick around,"

Anna smiled. "Nes left shortly after you did. Cade and I stayed around awhile. Under the influence of alcohol, I called him cute, and felt bad about it. He's still mourning you know. But...I don't...things might happen there."

Elyse smiled and settled in for a night of girl talk until Mae returned.
