Jackson pulled Marta away. It was better that way. Liv looked down at Nox "You want me to take Lily?"

He shook his head. "I'm better than I was. I got her."

"You sure?"

"Yeah. I'm not going to go on a murderous rampage or seek out a violent fuck so I'm good. She's good." Nox chuckled, though it sounded awkward.

Liv didn't look anymore convinced than Marta had. "I'll text Hayden." And that was what he did.

Be warned. Power is gone. Horde is gone. Emotions are gone. We should talk.

I held up the text to Liv so she'd beleive me. "I'm good. I promise. I can't hurt myself I have no power left to do that. Guns and knife are out of the house. If you truly worried get a lock box for the drugs and the knives."

"Should I be worried?"

Just as she asked a text came in from Sage. And Nox let out a long huff. "About me? No. About Elyse. Yes. Let's lock it all up for the time being. You, Ashton and Liam the only ones with the keys. Make sure you check all the bathrooms for any over the counter drugs."

Liv nodded and headed for the stairs leaving Nox alone with Lily. He sent Hayden another text

I'm fine. Deal with Elyse. I'm not in a bad place -- honest. I have Lily with me. I won't do anything with her here. You know that. I'm going to see a man about a song.

Nox got up and readied him and Lily for the brutal cold outside, even though it was just a short walk -- this walk would be made without the warmth of the power surrounding them. His life had just fucking changed and it was going to take a long fucking time to get used to it.
