Liv and Sterling both looked at Jared like he was giving him too much choice. It surprised Nox that Liv spoke up before his cousin. "He already agreed to this when we are ready. Don't give him time to back down." She turned to smile at Nox offering no remorse for standing between him and his own answer.
If Hayden had been there he'd have said the same thing. Sage was listening but he didn't add any comments. The only indicator he was still listen was the kill command he issued on the screen with Jared's scan. He would have liked to keep going Nox was certain of it, but they had what he'd been given permission to run, and he did his best to handle things in the right vein -- specially with Nox's friends.
Nox gave Jared a half smile. It didn't reach his eyes. And there were still doubts, but if they felt ready Nox was all for being the guinea pig. "You heard the lady. I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Poke away." There was more doubt creeping in. More fear than he'd like. What if the horde returned too?
