Anton listened intently to the man in front of him. His first thought was that it was absurd, but Anton could have an open mind, and he allowed himself to reconsider before speaking. The Orphic Mysteries, despite the name, were focused more on Dionysus; however the Mysteries of Dionysus were said to have been based on the writings of Orpheus. It was an interesting take. Anton had come into contact with the Mysteries as he had researched his role for L'Orfeo
"The Orphic Mysteries, if I remember correctly, had to do with the rituals of Orphism. It's foundation is the duality of man - body and soul. The soul is reincarnated indefinitely until undergoing the mysteries to end the cycle and then the soul becomes more divine in nature," Anton smiled. "A very simple explanation for something significantly more complex, but I know enough to understand where you're going with this."
Anton crossed his arms, bringing a hand to his chin to consider. Strangely, this interpretation made some sort of sense. "'Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.' Both Lucien and Theron were learned men, and Anton wouldn't be surprised if they knew that he was quoting Sherlock Holmes. "You're suggesting the possibility that what I saw were not only memories, but my memories, or rather, the memories of my soul. Which would suggest that Orpheus, and others as well, were not only myths. They were real people, and if one can be reincarnated, why not others. It's not the only possibility I'm sure, but it in some ways makes sense." He sighed. "If this is the case, then why show this to me, and why now?"
