Eliot showed up the meeting with the Ascendancy in a wheelchair. It was a dawning recognition then. Like a memory come back. He'd seen the man before in the Atharim HQ. It wasn't surprising. But it was surprising he hadn't remembered.
A memory buried after Aria died. Or rather he killed. A nightmare he was once again reliving. Nox growled. But he said nothing. Even as the man criticized his attire. "You told me to be myself.". Nox looked over at the second member of Eliot's party. It was supposed to be the two of them. "Your finance was not invited. She won't get in. This is a top secret facility. Only the passes get us in."
"We will see how it goes."
Nox shrugged. "On your head.". Whatever he thought.
They approached the gate. This was going to to be a big problem. They only had two passes. And now they had three.
Nox sighed as he handed the passes over. "It appears we have three." He was a lot annoyed and it was grating on him.
This is Ninacska.
They were met at the gates of the Garden by a flank of guards; some in civilian dress and others in uniform. It’s unclear what branch of the military is represented by the Garden.
From them, a woman in tactical clothing but not quite uniform approached. She scanned the passes and studied the faces to match. If she was ruffled by their guest, she did not show it.
“I can count, but apparently you can’t. Two passes: three people. I’m sure she’ll be comfortable in your car.”
She signaled the gate to be opened.
"Is this going to be a problem?"
