Kira Valyrios
The moment was incredibly intimate. Every nuance of Faedre's movements Kira took in from the way she squeezed her hands and placed her hands to cover the one that still held on to hers. Kira was aware that the hand on Faedre's face probably shouldn't be there. Even slightly hidden as they were, they were still in public, yet Faedre had done nothing to pull away from it. Kira's hand remained and she inwardly cursed the Tower politics that kept her from showing more affection.

Aes Sedai were taught to not form attachments, yet Kira had. Times of comfort as Novices and Accepted were supposed to remain that. They were the dalliances of youth, not to be explored upon obtaining the shawl. It didn't change what Kira felt. She saw the acceptance of her apology in Faedre's eyes. Even with the apology, the guilt remained. She hadn't meant to hurt Faedre. Her excitement at leaving at mostly driven the need of it. She could have waited.  She should have waited.

Faedre mentioned that a lot had changed here. Kira had felt it.  The tension here was thick, but she had no idea what.  She didn't answer Faedre's question right away and when Faedre spoke further, her heart skipped a beat. Did Faedre feel the same? The hand on Faedre's cheek caressed more, moving back until her thumb rested near Faedre's ear. Her fingers moved gently behind Faedre's neck. She pulled slightly and stepped forward a bit. Her desire was communicated with her movement and the look towards Faedre's lips until the hand curled into a fist then dropped to her friend's shoulders. Aes Sedai serenity only ever faltered in these moments with Faedre, and for a moment frustration registered on her face - not at Faedre - but at Tower customs that prevented her from going farther.

Her hand went to cover Faedre's. "Nothing yet. I've not been back long, but the tension is thick here," she squeezed Faedre's hands. She didn't really want to talk about Tower politics. Aranea was a mentor.  She would hear the Yellow Ajah's story later, but right now, she had no desire to leave Faedre's side. "But I'm glad one thing has stayed the same." Faedre was here, and she wished that there was nothing else in that moment. The wars were done and nothing else mattered, but that wasn't reality. "What has happened? I want to hear it from you."
