They entered the building. Rachel’s eyes didn’t stay in one place for long. They traveled across the room, taking it all in. It was unfinished, but Rachel saw the potential. This place was going to be something amazing, and Rachel was more than happy to be a part of it.
The power hummed within her, and even in the cold, it felt warm within her. Rachel sometimes couldn’t believe it. It was the same as Emily’s power. They were sure of that. And the power was similar to Jared’s, but different. Men could use it one way and women differently. Rachel still hadn’t let go. It was hard to do sometimes, mostly because she was irrationally afraid that it wouldn’t come back.
Rachel turned her attention to Zhenya as she counted off the rooms they had done in the castle. She wanted to see them all, but she knew now what she wanted to see first. ”Can we see where I’m going to live first?” she asked, feeling excited. She knew she couldn’t move it now, but that’s what she wanted to see - what would make this her home.
Rachel followed Zhenya as she began to lead, smiling brightly at her comment on it getting easier. ”Yeah, a little bit easier everytime. It’s just becoming more natural to use it. I still have to think about it though, but not to much. It’s a weird balancing act,” she laughed. ”For Em, she can just find it - well - normally she can anyways. For me, it’s still sometimes a struggle. I’ll get there eventually.”
In truth, Rachel was becoming more confident with using the power, and as her confidence grew, it became easier to channel it. ”Em was thinking she was struggling because of the pregnancy - your confirmation that is the case will be good. She’s actually been a little upset that she can’t help me more. Describing how to do things is different than showing. She’s glad that your and Natalie are going to help me. But I’ve learned a little.” she stopped and began to pull threads from the power - one at a time as she spoke them. ”Air, water, and spirt come easier. Fire and earth a little harder. Fire I’m getting better at. I use it to light candles to practice. Using more than one at once is hard. Assuming it’s just that I need more practice.” she dismissed her threads, but kept the power there, wondering if she would get some instruction or would have to wait.
