At least they came down from the assassination track. That was a pointless investigation. Dorian still was more concerned about WHY the creature's MO changed and not the victim. He was dead. Nothing he could do about it. And it didn't look like murder (or assassination). It was a monster through and through -- channeler or no -- still a monster was responsible.
Dorian pulled out his wallet and flipped open the tracking app. It wasn't something he did often, but when you had a hacker friend who tracked all your loved ones you sorta latched on to that little bit of security. Ana and Christian's blips were at home. Cruz was at his apartment. He flipped to another screen and tapped Nox's name and watched the map zoom across the city to his location. It was middle of a not so great location -- no place Nox was known to be. "I'll text him, but from the looks of things he's busy."
Dorian tapped out a message. We have a case. I need your input when you've time. Looks like ijiraq or a channeler burn out. Need your expert opinion.
Nox was usually pretty good about returning messages -- unless he was working or busy with other things. The horde kept him in a lurch.

I've never seen one. But you did, she possessed Oriena at the gala. The other ones there that attacked were male." Dorian set his wallet down on the table and pulled up another app -- one that he shouldn't share with people, but this was Sage's information not the Atharim, so Dorian didn't feel so bad. He'd curated the entire Atharim database as his own and he continually updated it with a back door. Dorian didn't ask how he got in, He didn't want to know.
"This is what the Atharim know about Ijiraq." the ijiraq file danced in front of him on the holo projector. It wasn't the same thing Nox had, this was Cruz's prototype built off of the same tech but this was meant for the people to consume, and didn't have all the bells and whistles Nox's phone, and house were equipped with. The Wicked Truth kept Nox updated without ever asking. Probably would help Dorian out if he hadn't actually been the reason the boys had left the house to begin with. How one decision had changed Dorian's life -- it wasn't all bad. At least for everyone else involved, Dorian, he was alone, and without his family.
