Marta didn't answer right away. It wasn't embarrassment or even fear from her time with the cartels, but it was something that she needed to think about before answering. Marta scooted closer to Sterling and rested her head on her shoulder as she considered. "Maybe a little," she said.
She kept thinking about it. "You wanted to do something and he pulled back - that has to be frustrating - especially because of being afraid of getting caught. Your feelings are valid for sure. But he likes you - I know that - I'm assuming you know it too." Marta paused a bit thinking. "I think I'd be frustrated and/or angry too. I don't know - it's hard for me to know how I'd feel, never thought I'd be there." Part of her still wasn't sure about that.
"I wouldn't know what you'd do about it though. Maybe give him some time - I know that's not ideal but, I'm not sure how to do about it, but I think being upset is okay. But he likes you - he hopefully comes around. Don't give up on it yet. Small blessing, at least he is able to back off when he needs to. Not all men do that." It was a reference to her past - times when the drugs were wearing off when she told the "client" to stop. It never worked. She grinned as she turned towards her. "I'm sure though he's thinking about what he missed though. Might be trying to find a place to be alone, if you know what I mean..."
Marta gave her a quick squeeze. "You know, I want to kiss Jackson too. I know neither of us is ready for it, but I want it. I think that's a good thing."
