The lab was shut down moments before he got the call. "Duty calls." He didn't belong in the lab but that's where the safest place to play with this wormhole tech that they were working on. He didn't understand the math. Didn't matter he didn't understand the weave all that well either. But when the boss man called, he went. He hadn't been by the apartments or the Atharim codex in a while, it was disillusioning meeting one of them and he was a pompous little kids with no respect. It really irked him to no end. How they let people like him in a selected order -- were they all like that? Guess he'd never know now since the world knew who he was and the Atharim were just bogey men now.

Order were to go out into the end of the world and save civies. And they were issued winter wear out the wazoo. Allan was not looking forward to trudging through snow over his head. The cold sucked even if he was used to it. And this snow was probably wet and heavy and the worst kind ever. He wondered if the kid would be out in the snow with nothing on like he'd shown up at the Garden. Fucking arragont prick! But he was going to be side by side with the Ascendacy again flinging magic and saving people -- again. And that little prick was god knows where. Did he have a jealous streak... yes...

The big doors opened and they were really going to do it. He waited for his orders and he'd follow them, but fuck if this wasn't going to suck.
