A date for the carnival
#8
Cadence smiled at Ezvin. ”My apologies for my tardiness,” she spoke quietly, appreciating the sounds that came from the carnival and the river. It had some peacefulness to it.

His next statement caught her a bit off guard, simply because she didn’t know how to respond to it. Love. She loved many people. She loved her parents, Casey, and her bandmates. But she had to wonder what Ezvin meant. Did he love her? And if he did - did he love her. It wasn’t something she had felt before. Not for anyone. She had crushes before and had never acted on them. She smiled and squeezed his hand in response, grateful for Ezvin’s wallet going off. It kept her from having to say something about it, but it didn’t stop heat from coming to her cheeks. She was grateful that the cold would hide most of the blush. His words were true though. She was glad she was here and with people she loved.

Cadence was about to respond to Ezvin when someone caught her eye. A crazy women running through the snow carrying a guitar and with bare feet. Cadence’s eyebrow rose as she watched the woman disappear into the carnival. ”That was…” her voice trailed as she looked for the right word. ”Unexpected. I hope she’s okay…”

Cadence turned back to face him and she looked at the time. ”Speaking of unexpected - Lore arrived late - which is also strange. We should go find her,” she moved, pulling Ezvin gently, clearly excited about the adventure she was about to take into the unknown.
