Sage was a little more bouncy than usual. Nox was safe. Aidan was hopefully coming home soon. It was a good day.
And Raffe volunteered to show them the way. Even better. Sage grinned at the man who was far more like Nox than any of them. Any of his friends really, both of them living tragic lives. Not a bad thing, just not the posh life he had, nor Cruz nor Aidan. But even their lives were so different. Sage was grateful to have them as friends. It made all the other rich lives he followed all that much more richer. But neither of them left digital trails like their counterparts. If it weren't Nox's proximity he'd never have run across the strapping man who saved people from an attack and got maimed. Vidoes had surfaced and Sage found them, the horrid event was not something he wanted to watch again. Much like the night Nox watched his mother die in front of him. Days he wished he'd never watched the things that came in with his own eyes -- those things stuck with him longer -- the visual stuck.
"Do you know where we should start? I was planning on taking the route in the tunnels from here to the tent city. Easier to check on Nox when I'm hooked into that system.
But that's not where we are going is it?"
