Finding my footing
#11
Aine lifted her eyebrows as Rachel explained the Atharim in much more detail than she had ever heard.  It sounded much more complex than what her Nan had explained.  It would make sense that there would be people who had magic in the group and maybe wanted to change things now.  She took Rachel's hand and stood, glad that their conversation didn't end awkwardly.  She could use some friends outside of school.  She nodded enthusiastically to the invitation for coffee.  "I guess that's what I get for growing up in a small town," she said with a chuckle.  She shrugged one shoulder.  "We tend to our own.  Nan had always just said that there were people looking for others like us, so we always had lessons in secret.  Didn't even know their name."  She brightened again as she thought about grabbing a coffee with Rachel.  "But now I know a friend's name.  Coffee might just be what gets me to finish unpacking too."
