Time to Breathe
#21
Jacinda tried to straighten up. Tenzin was probably right. She was clean, true. But she probably looked like a corpse three days gone. The bruises and scratches and cuts probably helped with that. And that she moved like a zombie.

And the bags....God some mornings (more like early afternoons, really) she'd wake after a long night of drinking and stuff, head pounding, and it was bad. Which meant take a few pills and sleep it off. And sleep. And sleep.

So anyway, yeah. Tenzin was right.

And she felt good. Fucking good. Tired as hell. But at peace.

"All right. Not sure now long I'll sleep. If I die, just come in and throw water on me or something."
She winked at her, then squeezed her shoulder, and headed off to the room.

The strain into bed was a bit much, but the bed was soft and the covers heavy and cool. She might really need that water was her last thought before drifting off with a smile.
