Cleaning Up (Nox’s Building)
#1
Elyse arrived back at the building that was now becoming her home. Anna was inside - getting herself moved in. Elyse had left to go to the psychologist. She had been surprised that she had gotten an appointment so fast, but she had sensed the urgency within the reception when she answered positively about having suicidal thoughts.

She had kept Hayden informed and even now she sent him a message stating her diagnosis. Pyschologist diagnosis: severe clinical depression. I’m on meds now. Said I might have some mood swings as I adjust.

She enter the living area and saw that the kids had been playing. The toys were around haphazard. No one had gotten around to cleaning up. Elyse’s first thought was to blame herself. It was probably because of her episode, but she was working on that.

Also having kept Anna in the loop, Elyse sent her a message. Back. Downstairs cleaning up.

Elyse knew it was time for her to start earning her keep here. This was a simple way she could start. Maybe she would touch base with Liv later and ask what she could do to ease her burden. It was a possible meeting that gave Elyse anxiety. It wouldn’t surprise her if she was on Liv’s bad side - and Elyse thought she deserved the other woman’s ire.

Elyse began to pick up the toys. There was a toy box now. She hadn’t ordered it, but it was there nonetheless.

”Sky - do you know what the procedure is for my medication?” She asked, hoping that it understood what she meant. She would clarify it if needed. She assumed that her meds would be locked up and she’d have to get them from someone else.

Anna needed to get moved in and Elyse’s appointment had just been a good time to do so. Anna checked in often and Elyse hadn’t had a problem with that. Anna wasn’t going to be here forever - she had her own home and intended to return, but Elyse needed her now, and this was a simple way for her to help.

Elyse sent a message that she was back. Anna didn’t respond, she just went downstairs to find Elyse organizing some children’s toys. ”Heya! How did it go?”

”It was helpful. You should hang on to these for now,” Elyse handed her a bottle of pills.

”Have you had your dose yet?”

Elyse shook her head. ”Thought I should be in the habit of having someone around when I take it.”

Anna nodded in understanding and checked the prescription before opening it and giving Elyse the appropriate dosage. She kept hold of the medication and started to help Elyse clean.

"Ashton, Liv and Liam have the key to the locked box that is currently locked in the guest room on the main living floor across from Lily's room. There is a physical key as well as the digital lock on the door. The Wicked Truth had the digital lock installed while you were gone. It is wired into the system I can access in case of emergency, should one arise."

"I suggest setting a schedule on the shared calendar as to when you should take your medication, so that one of the three can assist you in the process of obtaining them. I might also recommend a change in location of required medication to an electronic lock box that I can unlock and monitor for you. This would include refills, contacting your doctor when you are low and setting up an appointment and other things that I might be able to assist with. We only need to put in a requisition to obtain the new box for this new medication. All others should remain under human control."

Elyse chuckled a bit when Anna jumped at Sky’s interjection. It took some getting used to. Elyse was more comfortable with the AI now that she was more comfortable with Sage. The appointment would be a good idea she could do that later, until she remembered she didn’t have to do that.

”Sky - set a medication appointment for me daily at 8:00 AM on the shared calendar and please requisition that lockbox.”

Anna had begun to help her clean. ”I can do this - please. Just be here. This is helping.”

Her emotions were still going back and forth, but the movement was helping her keep them in check, and the mess wasn’t too bad. They could also clean the appliances later. Elyse was feeling motivated - so she felt she should use that before it was gone.

"Both tasks have been completed. The new lock box will arrive tomorrow afternoon."

The AI was so weird. It made Anna jump every time it spoke, but she assumed she’d get used to it in time. Anna had her own room here, but she imagined she’d use it little. She was here for Elyse, so she’d spend most of her time with Elyse, if that included sleeping in the same bed, it didn’t bother her, but they were both adult women - and privacy was always a good thing if needed.

Anna tried to help clean, but Elyse wanted to do the work on her own, so Anna stood aside. There was more perk to Elyse today. She had a feeling the psychologist really helped. ”So did they teach you anything?”

Elyse nodded, most of the toys were in the box now, and what didn’t fit was stacked to the side neatly and out of the way. Elyse then began to wipe down the table. ”A lot of it’s okay to feel what I feel and that I need to acknowledge that and being honest about it to others. She asked to me also recognize progress. A lot of things come to trying to think positive too and to turn negative statements into positives. Like instead of saying “I’m sorry I’m a burden” I can say “thank you for accommodating my needs.” The rest is mostly things to calm down and ground if I need to.”

Ann nodded. It was all good information , and already Elyse seemed to be really trying hard to get better.m - even moreso than before. ”And if you need me - you know where to find me.”a
Anna changed the subject. ”So is this Wicked Guy - Sage - really spying on me all the time?”

Elyse smiled. She had told Anna more when they got here the night before, but she had learned a lot of it from Hayden. ”Yes and no. You’re connected to this WiFi - so he’s now “following” you. But in reality, you’re collecting information from him. He’s still a person - so he’s not able to pay attention to everyone he is following, but if you’re interesting he’ll pay more attention. I imagine he is paying more attention to me now, but that’s because I’m a danger to myself, but he’s also given me more tools to get help too. He’s actually a pretty good friend.”

”How does he do it all though?”

Elyse shrugged. ”I don’t know if it’s my place to say - so I won’t,” Anna nodded in understanding.

”is he dangerous? Should I be worried?”

Elyse shook her head, ”Information is power, and when it comes to information, he’s one of the most powerful individuals in the world. But as long as you’re on his good side - you’re not in danger from it, and he’s pretty lenient.”

Anna allowed all of this to digest. She had a cyber stalker. She knew she would get that, but based on what Elyse and Hayden had told her - she wasn’t worried. It would be weird though.

Elyse kept cleaning. When she was done with the living area, she went to the top floor and starting cleaning common areas and bathrooms. She was hyper fixated on getting this place clean. She didn’t know if hyper fixating was good or bad, but she knew she was being predictive and it helped her feel less like crap. In reality, the building wasn’t extremely dirty - mostly only needing sweeping.

Anna tried to join in again when Elyse started on a bathroom and Elyse let her this time. She had accomplished what she needed to with the solo work. Anna started to sing too - of all things - sea shanties. Elyse joined in on the ones she knew. It made her smile - which had probably been what Anna was trying to do. They got down to the first floor where the offices were. Elyse hesitated, uncertain if she should clean them. They were probably locked, but Elyse was even cautious to try the door.

”Sky, is it okay if I clean the offices or should they be left alone? Also - is Liv around?” the second was an after thought. She should talk to Liv - and Liam and Ashton too - but one at a time would be best. She wouldn’t feel overwhelmed that way.

"The offices are currently occupied by their respective workers. There is a janitorial staff that handles this floor and the outside maintenance minus the empty gardens up on the roof."

A few moments later Sky came back "Liv is downstairs assisting with the physical education aspect of their lessons."

The Elyse she saw today was a big difference than yesterday. She was super focused and ready to get everything done. It was kind of crazy, but Wlyse also seemed a lot happier. Anna couldn’t keep sitting by after awhile and joined in when Elyse started doing the bathrooms. She was only a little surprised that Elyse didn’t object.

Already Anna was getting used to the AI - and it also made her wonder if Wicked was watching them now. AI was just weird to her - too many movies where the AI took over to save them from themselves. She shivered at the thought.

With the words from Sky that this floor was done by the office’a janitorial staff, Elyse and Anna put away the cleaning supplies. Elyse’s face changed.

”Whats wrong?” Anna asked, her face concerned.

”Im going to talk to Liv, own up to some mistakes. I just…I’m worried it’s not going to go well. You might flick my ear for saying this, but she and a lot of the people here have reason to be upset with me. This…is going to be hard, but necessary.”

Anna didn’t flick her ear. It honestly sounded like this was for the right reason, and Elyse wasn’t beating herself up. She wanted to get better, and Anna understood that this was just part of doing that.

”I think it will be okay. I think the people here care about you. They might be frustrated but that doesn’t mean they hate you.”

Elyse nodded at Anna’s remark. It was probably the truth, but it was sometimes difficult to see the most likely scenario, and Elyse wasn’t beating still not in a great mindset. She thought the worst was going to happen. She really cared about everyone here too.

”Alright - time to do this. You got my meds? We should probably give them to Liv too,”

Anna nodded and they headed downstairs where the kids were doing their physical activity. Marta wasnt there today - she had an appointment with her psychologist. Liv was there as Sky had said. Elyse watched for a while, not sure if she was ready, but she knew she had to. She approached Liv.

”Hey - I know you’re busy, but I’d like to talk to you for a bit if you can. It can wait if you need it.” she wanted to be respectful.
