Sterling shrugged. "I seriously doubt Nox has a rule against him sleeping with me. Or with anyone as long as there is consent involved. He doesn't exactly strike me as the prudish type. I mean every single kid except me has had sex already -- well maybe not the Blackthorn girls."
Sterling sighed. "He's afraid of nothing as far as I'm concerned. There is no rule. But I think he's used to the unspoken rules of his father, and the disappointment there." She wasn't sure. And she was just talking to talk now.
She really didn't have an answer. So she changed the subject. "I don't know if there is any way to be ready to kiss someone -- other than to do it. You could try practicing, but it's all kinda awkward. Your hand, your arm, a friend -- it's all very awkward." Her and Rana had tried kissing once -- it was weird and definitely not the same thing as kissing a boy who you wanted to kiss. "Only thing I can say is just relax. It's only a kiss."

But it's not really a surprise cause he knows, but it's a secret surprise party still. They don't much like surprise birthday parties after having been to a few too many birthday dinners." Her fingers did air quotes around the last two words. They were bad dinners -- bad experiences so no one wanted to scare Liam. Or any of the others, but they all wanted to show him he would have a good life after 18. But her voice dropped as she continued. "I wonder if he'll try to talk Nox into something sexy wise. I've seen him making plans, talking to himself about what he'd say."
