Nicholas Trano
#6
The two agents shared a look when they were invited in. Reed adjusted a setting on her watch that initiated a jamming frequency. The range was decent from the device, but it was potent. More importantly, though perhaps less technologically intimidating, it began a timer. Reed and Abrams were only a visible part of a wider team. Their counterparts had a role to play as well. Together, they were all under a time limit.

The two agents were shown to a formal waiting room. By the time their host arrived, each were positioned on the edge of their seats, comfortable, but formal. Two glasses of water were set before them, though neither had yet to take a drink.

Nicholas himself appeared, and Agent Abrams stood to introduce himself and his partner. Reed locked eyes with the man, but stood only long enough to shake his hand before taking her former position. She remained quiet, but Reed was hardly demure. She was scanning, studious, and cautious, but confident. She folded her hands and watched.

"I apologize for the unexpected visit, but we understand you were contacted by the CCD. Invited to the Kremlin?" Abrams had a mid-atlantic flavor to his accent, but he wasn't trying to muffle it. Nor the slight intonation of russian to his syallables. Either he was of the ethnicity or he spent an enormous amount of time abroad. By the severe cut of his gaze, the explanation was likely the latter.

"As part of the press corps, you provide an unique opportunity." Abrams leaned in, resting his elbows on his knees, eyes locked upon Nicholas'. "You have a chance to serve your country Mister Trano, and we're here to help you do it." Something to Abrams' tone implied this was a non-negotiable service.
