Nesrin was already scraping back her chair and hooking her rucksack over her shoulder when they all agreed to the suggestion. You didn’t bring anything down,” she said to Cade with a shrug as she inspected the coffee-stain on her hoodie. It seemed she was going to have to figure somewhere to take them then. Most of the student bars were closer to the university, and they weren’t getting in anywhere high end with how she was dressed. Affluence wasn’t what she was playing today anyway, and there were plenty of touristy places near the market.
When Elyse gave her the lead she glanced up from her inspection of the stain and gave a laugh, in equal parts devious and playful. But it was only a tease – she wanted these girls to like her. So she paused to consider a moment before leading them to the door, though truthfully her thoughtful expression in that moment had little to do with where to take them. A job at Kallisti would serve as a hideout (hopefully), but it wasn’t enough on its own. Which was why, as she passed under the security camera on the way out, her eyes upturned, and Nesrin gave it a subtle wink before disappearing out into the winter afternoon, the others in tow behind her.
