Quirk's list of names

The most interesting task on the list was the need to show the world that the men that died in Africa were not monsters. They were real men, with real lives that made a difference and believed in what the Legion stood for and why they fought. Sage wanted to do this himself, but the task was far larger than he was, and he knew he'd tire quickly of the search. But qu1rk would not, he lived to hunt down nameless faces and find every piece of dirt on them. He and 3p107m3 worked well together.

This time however Sage just wanted names of those who had died, he'd do the rest. Once he had names the search for information would be easy and that is what Sage loved - finding all the interesting bits and compiling them in a specific way. This time to present something illuminating - something people would understand and feel sympathy towards - something that they would know these men and women. When Sage was done they would believe they were good people. And if he found that some were not he'd leave them out. Not everyone was going to be a golden boy, or a great person. That was life. Sage knew it first hand.

Sage sent qu1rk his assignment.

Ph435r: qu1rk, I have some names I need you to find.

qu1rk: When don't you?

Ph435r: You saw my announcement for Sierre Leone, Africa restructuring?

qu1rk: yeah. What do you need?

Ph435r: I need you to find the names of all the men and women who fell from Legion Premiere in Jeddah.

qu1rk: That's all, just the names? That's right you like to do the work yourself, give me the hard part.

Ph435r: you know me so well. Can you do it?

qu1rk: I guess. I like when you let me get dirt on those names though.

Ph354r: I don't need dirk. Just names. Thanks.

qu1rk: no problem.

Finding a list of names in a country that was not exactly friendly was a lot harder than it sounded. The knowledge that these men had died fighting in a war was really the only thing that made it worth while. It was Ph453r's game on this one. He wanted to pick up the dirt, to have something more important to show the man who funded his own work.

All Ph453r wanted was names. Names were boring but he'd let it go. Names was going to happen quickly particularly one the he hacked into the legion's own computer system. He'd have to relay the message to Ph453r for him to make them update if he was going to be working with these guys often.

But he found a list. A list of about 200 or so names which he promptly sent to Ph453r.

Sage pulled in a worker program and started sifting through the vast knowledge of the internet. Each name on the list had its own pipeline and its own storage. Each piece of information was filtered into storage and tagged appropriately. Nearly everyone had a digital footprint, you just needed to know where to start, and Sage had the basic information needed. Searching from then on out would be done by his idle programs.

He didn't do that in his head. No that would be a bit silly. The server was a mere thought away - he had complete access - control over everything it did through his link to it. It didn't matter if it was wireless or if he were jacked in. The working of it was just the same. But jacking in was a far better experience. Sage avoided it for the time being. The last time he'd gotten lost in it, he'd contacted an old friend's roommate afterwards and Grim had brought him crashing down.

The experience still left Sage a little off kilter. So he laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling lost inside his head while he created 200 plus worker programs to do the brunt of his job.

Once information started filtering in Sage would personally look at it and create the recognition that Danjou wanted for his men. He'd find just the right sympathetic information to make these men saints - if it was there he'd find it.

Sage was happy with the first video he created. Sapper Nkemdilim Aberash was a good man. He was a loving son and a good officer. He was a hero - he should be honored like one.

Sage posted one solitary video on IAF - a popular video repository for video with all the cat videos and stupid stunts idiots did, but it was the best way to get out there naturally. But Sage sent out a mass blast to illegally obtained email addresses - popular news stations around the world, important people who mattered in those fields as well as people who could make the video's go viral naturally. In a few days he'd make sure it happened, but he would let it go naturally at first.
