Apartment Hunting For A Friend
#1
Anna had spent a couple of nights at her own place.  Not that she didn't like Nox's place or being with Elyse.  There was just a feeling of being home that she liked.  Everyone liked that feeling she thought.  Home. Elyse also seemed to be doing well, and she seemed to be hitting things off with Rachel Shale even if Rachel didn't seem to be doing well. Poor girl.

Anna had just finished cleaning when she got a text from Cade.

Hey! Was wondering if you had time to help me look for an apartment? Got a few options but want some company. I hate looking by myself.

Anna smiled at that. She was glad he was staying and not just because she was crushing on him bad. It seemed like he needed a new start, and moving to Moscow would be good for that. An apartment meant he had decided to stay. She thought Nox had offered him a job. Maybe he had accepted.

Sure thing! Let me know when and where and I'll be there! She responded.

Anna was still in her pajamas so she got dressed and waited for a response from Cade.  When she got a place to go, she left, grabbed a cab and headed out.

Cade could have asked Nox to go with him, but he didn't think his half brother much cared about housing or school districts or even location. His house was located a few blocks away from a burlesque club and in the red light district and he didn't seem to think it was out of place or even strange. And Cade was pretty sure that Nox didn't even pick it out or do anything other than pay rent. He clearly was not used to being a home owner or anything. Much less a parent. But who was ever ready to be a parent? He did envy his brother that though.

Nox had offered him a job. It was working with kids, but also on a pro-bono level. Though Nox insisted that he'd be getting paid, even if it wasn't as much as he'd like while they looked for funding. Which really didn't seem to be a problem after talking with Ms. Vega. Nox was a strange man, he kept the company of dancers and dilettantes. Ana also had insisted that he'd be getting paid. They'd open a clinic near the location they intended to build and he could start right away. And it helped that her ex-husband was also the son of Jivana CEO, so tech wasn't going to be an issue.

And he'd get to do whatever research he wante all under the Jivana name thanks the connections his brother had. How he managed he had no idea.

But Cade didn't know many people in town, and he didn't want to make things weird he knew Anna had a crush and he couldn't help but like her in return, but he wasn't ready for any relationship. But as long as it remained friends he was happy to have her show him around and now help him decide on apartments. He had 4 listings, some better than others, but he had no real idea of much in Moscow, he hoped Anna knew better.

He sent her the address of the first apartment and they'd meet there. He hoped she'd take a car and not drive herself, it would be easier to figure out transportation then. He'd have picked her up but she said she'd meet him, so that was what they did. The first place was a one bedroom apartment in one of the outer rings of the city. It was the cheapest place on his list, but it wasn't close to anything he knew.

Cade arrived a bit early and waited outside in the frigid air for Anna. He didn't know from what direction she would come and he held a cup of coffee for them both, though his was nearly gone, it was the only thing keeping him warm.

Anna arrive and saw Cade waiting there. She got out of the vehicle and made sure the driver was paid. She didn’t know how long they would spend looking at each unit, so she let the driver go. They could easily get another for their next destination. Time was money and no reason to keep the driver from taking on other clients.

She approached Cade with a smile and took a proffered coffee. ”You’re the best! Thank you!” she said cheerfully, taking a sip. ”That hits the spot.”

Anna began to walk to the building with Cade, knowing how little they both liked the cold. ”How have you been? I take it you’ve decided to stay,” she said giving him a smile as they entered the building proper. ”I took a look at the listing on my way here. Looks like a really nice place!” she said with a grin.
