I wouldn't sweat it too much, Tron. Its not like your computer was the target of some secret national security crawler that initiated some kind of embedded self-destruct sequence after processing all the totally nice and lovely things you had to say about the CCD. *grin.

Good luck. Also, its a great excuse to buy a new computer. Get yourself one of them plastic things with free money on them. They work great. *grin.
