Apartment Hunting For A Friend
#21
Anna was never one to turn away food, so she took a couple of cookies and thanked Marisol. She noticed that Cade looked around the place, getting a feel for his potential new neighbor. Clean except for some dishes in the sink. It spoke of someone who liked things neat and tidy, but was busy and sometimes had trouble keeping up with their household chores.

They went into the unit across the hall. The set up was the same as Marisol's, but with hers you got to see what the potential of this empty space could be. Her apartment was unique to her, and Cade could make this one how he wanted. It was well furnished, and one of the bedrooms was set up like an office. That would be good for the good doctor.

Cade asked her opinion on it. "It's really my favorite one so far. I can see why you liked it. Lots of potential to make it yours." She turned to him with a smile. "Neighbor seems really nice, and that's not something you can put a price tag on. It's a crap shoot wherever you go. Doesn't mean you have to go with this one, but it's certainly a good thing to know. You can certainly look at the next one too, but I'd make a decision soon on this one - it's not likely to be on the market long."

Cade spent a little more time looking around. It wasn't a bad view from the windows. And it would be nice to live next door to a cop. It would always be safe. It was the perfect location, close to the Red Light District where Nox was and the new clinic site. It was great.

"You're right. I don't think I need to look at the other one." He looked around again, exploring the closets, checking windows, giving it a good once over like his father taught him. "You don't want to buy a dud." he heard his father say. But he wasn't buying. But the mantra still held.

As he entered the living space again where the landlord waited. Cade smiled. "I think I'll take it!" It was a bit more expensive than some of the others, but it was well worth it for all the extras.
