Forced Withdrawals [Nox's Building]

Elyse was vaguely aware that something was going on. The weather was apparently not good. Elyse hadn’t felt like leaving her room. It was one such day. You just sometimes needed to have time alone. Sky had checked on her at Hayden’s request. That wasn’t totally unusual. He checked on her fairly regularly. In truth she was getting better. Especially after she had left.

Marta had come in and grabbed some stuff that she used when spending the night. Jackson had been with her. They both smelled different than they usually did. Marta had been avoiding him. Elyse hadn’t felt an inkling why, but Marta hadn’t seemed ready to talk about it yet. The fact that had changed had likely meant Hayden had something to do with it. If Marta was facing more of her ghosts she might find more peace or get upset again. It would be a good idea to check on her later.

But a girl had to eat and that meant leaving the safe confines of her room and going to the kitchen. What she found she didn’t expect. Everyone was here. Bouncers, dancers, kids - the whole Kallisti club was here it seemed. It was curiosity that kept her going, although she greeted people with a wave. She kept going downstairs where she found the entire Kallisti creche. Most seemed fine, but it was Sterling that caught her nose. She was clearly upset about something. The other kids seemed to be enjoying themselves though. The bedroom door was closed.

Elyse approached Sterling. They didn’t really talk much, but Elyse liked her. She was a good kid for the most part. ”Hey - you okay?” she asked. Usually Marta was around, but she wasn’t - likely seeing to Lily.

Madison & Mackenzie

Maddi curled around her sister after the story. Kenzie always said she'd hurt Nox -- kill him even if she could. And he knew it. She told him countless times, and he still taught her how to fight. "She is afraid to like Nox. Afraid it'll betray our parents. They would have become monsters and tried to kill us. It was a mercy to end their lives while they were still them."[color] Maddi explained. [color=#ace]"So we didn't see them and then turn us too. He saved us. He saved all of us. He keeps trying to save us and all she wants to do is kill him. And now she threatened him to someone else..." She knew what that meant. "They are going to split us up now. At least with Nox we could have stayed together." Maddi cried then she was mad at her sister, but she couldn't leave her, she hugged to her tight.

Sterling stormed away downstairs and found a quiet corner to watch. Ashton was still singing entertaining the kids. They were singing children songs now and singling along with him.

It made her smile and Ashton wasn't projecting any moods which was good -- she wanted to feel her feelings. She was angry and frustrated. Maybe Liam wasn't someone she should crush on now.

Elyse sat down next to her and asked if she was okay. "Boys are stupid." she said. Sterling didnt elaborate, Elyse knew -- but Elyse also liked girls too. They were probably stupid too.

This was a fucking day. He was worried about Nox. He couldn't follow him. He probably should have -- but now that possiblity was gone. Hayden had texted Nox but he was ignoring everything -- not just him. He was fine -- safe even. Sky had ensured him of that. He was inside, his vitals looked good, his heartrate was fine -- well mostly. Hayden had no idea who he was visiting but he was someplace. He had expected to find him with Oriena but this wasn't the sleezy motel he liked.

He hadn't heard from Anita either -- the weather probably had her busy. He hoped she was safe.

His worries flittered away when Marta came in. She didn't say a word, just laid down next to him squeezed his hand and let Lily sleep. He grinned. Sometimes the kids around here were way too grown up. "You know that's my job right?" He chuckled -- reassuring people was his job.

Marta turned to face Hayden, giving him a wry smile. It was his job, but that could be hard to do. ”I can’t imagine dealing with all these lunatics has been a light burden. You have to turn to someone when YOU need to be reassured.” she gave a little laugh. ”Besides - I have a date you have to chaperone for. Got to make sure you’re in a good headspace for that.”

She turned back to look at the ceiling. ”if you want me to leave though,” she said, her voice compassionate. ”I will. But if you want to talk or vent - I’ll stay. We could also talk about other things if you want a distraction. Alternatively we can sit in awkward silence. It’s all up to you Hayden Sebastian.” she meant it. She would give him space if he wanted, but she thought her presence had helped him a little.

Hayden sighed. It wasn't her job to worry about him. "Marta, dear, you grew up way too fast so your job is to be a kid. I got people to talk to, they are just busy and one of them is sorta pissed at me right now." He leaned closer "And you know how Nox gets when he's in a mood." He leaned back over and grinned. "I'm okay -- honest."

His wallet beeped a notification that Sky had sent him something. He picked it up and glanced at it. It could be about Nox. He sighed when it wasn't. "And now Tatyana thinks I'm mad at her but wants to talk." He shimmied down alittle more and pulled Nox's pillow over his face. He instintictively took a deep breath and savoreed the smell -- his room was immeciably clean and he did laundry more than anyone he ever knew -- proabably because he didn't own much so the bed sheets were really the only thing that smelled like him other than the hoodies.

He lifted the pillow above his head and looked up at Marta. "I'm going to take a nap. You are welcome to stay. No awkward silence necessary -- unless my snoring bothers you." He grinned at her.

Marta shrugged and held Lily close. They were always telling her that her job was to be a kid. She had talked about it with many of the adults. She never really said what she thought in regards to it though. ”Its hard to be a kid,” she told Hayden.

It really was. Sometimes she found that childlike joy she should have as a 13 year old. Other times, it was a lot of work that she didn’t always want to go through. In this case, it was really just neither. She just wanted Hayden to know someone cared, and he probably knew that. But he was her friend, and that’s what friends did.

Hayden decided to take a nap. ”nap sounds good,” Marta said, adjusting Lily so they all could sleep. That would be nice for now.

The girls were breaking her heart. Tatyana hated feeling all of this. She wanted her pills so bad, but she couldn’t have them. She had to face the facts that she couldn’t have them. It was going to be hard. For now, she bore the weight of addiction silently - a punishment for her transgressions.

Maddi was now upset. What cruelty it would be to separate the twins. They needed each other. ”I’ll try, Maddi,” she said, lightly touching her. ”I’ll try to keep you together.” She didn’t know how she could do that.

Monsters. Apparently they existed. Maddi had told her of them before. Perhaps Nox had been right, but still it irked her seeing these girls in pain. She couldn’t see herself forgiving him. Maddi held onto her sister. ”Do you want me to leave?” she asked the girl. Maybe neither of them wanted her around anymore. It would hurt, but she would understand.

Elyse chuckled a bit. ”Not laughing at you, but every girl I know has said that at least once, so welcome to the club,” she put a hand lightly on Sterling’s shoulder. ”Yes - boys are stupid.”

Elyse took her hand down and placed it in her lap, contemplating. ”The cure for their stupidity is generally ice cream and wine. Now we can’t have the wine, but we got ice cream aplenty. Would you like to get some and find a place where we can talk about how stupid boys are?” she smiled. ”I can tell you about the jerk that cheated on me with a guy while I was sleeping upstairs.” Of course, Sterling knew that story. It was about her cousin.

Maddi looked up and shook her head. "No, but you need to stop acting like people don't like you. It's annoying. Just as annoying as Kenzie always being tough. You're scare that's all, just be scared." She curled around her sister and held on. maddi was tired of adults being the problem.

She was glad that Tatyana was there but right now all she wanted was Kenzie.
