After a not so restful night sleep, Aria goes looking for a way to kill an Irijaq Aria finds a way in the end, but it is is not useful to her specifically. The elements of fire and cold can incapacitate an Ijiraq making it easy to kill. But the only proven methods in her research was from those who wielded the power of the gods.

With still no fool proof method to kill an Ijiraq, Aria heads to Vatican City to find the Journal of Elenora Martello, the last book on this list in Monsters from A-Z. Aria hopes to find what she is looking for, but in the end she learns more about her birth and what she actually is.

At headquarters Aria runs into the Regus, the last person she wanted knowing what she was, and what she had been up to while in Moscow. Instead of hunting her, the Regus turns her attentions back to the prophecies she'd helped uncover. Without warning, Aria is given a suicide mission - kill Apollyon or as the world knows him, The Ascendancy.

Aria begins the trip home with thoughts of home mixing with plans for her plot to kill the Ascendancy. Once home Aria draws a bath after sending out two important text messages.

With a new mission, new dangers and new abilities to hone, Aria finds herself with another mystery outside of some random bar in some random part of Moscow. Aria's only question now is who or what killed the drakaina she had been following. No answers to what killed the dranaika other than the bloodied blade and many more questions.

Meeting a privilege could have it's benefits, considering he wanted to continue their conversation that was rudely interrupted by a trepid reporter seeking a big story. Aria's attempt at using her potential abilities back fired terribly and her deep desires and longings flood to the surface leading to her untethering

In order to remove evidence of monsters and her own involvement in the dead dranaika Aria is lead to the reporters home with longing and desire. Aria finds herself in the grips of something far stronger than that in the end and far more dangerous.

Aria finds her self detached from the control that was precariously hanging on by a thread. Dane interrupts their passions and the scene turns to a grisly murder - a choice that Aria will have to live with for the rest of her life.

As they leave the soon to explode apartment Aria senses one of Takeo's men who followed them. After a earth shattering kiss Aria tell Dane of their follower, and later kills him before they part ways. Leaving Aria questioning everything except for her desires for Dane.

After leaving Dane, Aria's emptiness remains. Thoughts of suicide run through her mind but she can never follow through. Eventually she pushes forward to answer Father Stone's call. His wrath is nearly as bad as the Regus is rumored to be, but unlike the Regus, Aria pushes fear and intimidation on purpose into the priest, only to be interrupted in her threats.

Aria finally puts a face to Tehya's name. And it turns out they've an equal interest in saving reborn gods from the hands of the Atharim. Though Aria questions her own plans, she sticks to them for the moment.

Tehya reveals her secret to Aria and Aria returns the gesture.

Aria also finds out Connor has been telling people about the Atharim, and that he and Tehya and another godling had encountered another Ijiraq. Aria offers to help hunt the monster, but Tehya wants to examine it.

They agree to meet up in a few days to hunt the Ijiraq that spoke to them, and to keep in touch about their mutual intersts. Aria turns her mind to hunting, and will begin hunting the man who had once saved her life.

Out hunting Aria runs into Connor. His pain is intoxicating, his loss of Ayden and the brutal beating he's been doing to himself pulls Aria's hungry for pain to the edge. She attempts to push his desires making him feel guilty. Some how Connor breaks free of her control and runs away from her. Aria is left perplexed and her hunger unsatisfied.

Things having not ended well with Dane, the anger with him, brings on a multitude of other emotions she'd been suppressing. In order to feel better Aria descends into the underground seeking monsters to kill. With reckless abandon Aria takes on an oni only to be saved by a godling who is also an officer of the law. Thankfully Aria was not arrested and allowed to leave the scene. She really didn't want to end up in jail for something like killing a monster, considering there were worse things she could have been arrested for.
