Elyse watched and knew immediately what Marta had meant when she looked at her. Elyse often felt the same way. She hated hiding who she was, and she saw the opportunity to not have to hide. Still she checked, making sure that it was okay. Elyse smiled and nodded. It was safe to tell Sterling. Marta spoke to the girl, putting her hand on Splash’s head. Splash was really well behaved. Then Marta turned and waved for Elyse to come over, and Elyse hoped everything was okay.

”We really will miss you, Juls, if that is what you decide. But do what is best for you either way - we’ll be happy for you,” Anna nodded her agreement. ”And I agree. I think this place would be a good place for Marta. I’ll bring it up to her guardian today. Sterling it appears has already drawn her in. And with that, I better go check on Marta. Excuse me ladies.”

Elyse stood up and went to Marta. She knelt down next to her. ”Is everything okay?”

Marta nodded. ”Yes…umm…Sterling was talking about online school and…” she trailed off.

Elyse smiled. ”I’ll talk to Ricky.”

Then Marta leaned down and whispered to Elyse. ”Can I take my contacts out too?”

Elyse chuckled. ”Yes, I think that will be okay.”

Sterling smiled. "I'm not afraid, Nox used to have a dog, his name was Nova. But he wasn't allowed in the lounge, he had to stay in Nox's room. But Nova wasn't a wolf, just a regular dog. And he didn't have a cute vest like Splash."

Another ball of light swirled around hers and Sterling looked back at the table to find Anna waving and glowing back at her. She grinned. She was getting better. Maybe she'd be around more when they all did things. "Do you want to meet the others? They are all really shy too, they came from a bad place and have a lot of bad habits to unlearn, but they are sweet"

Juls smiled, she was glad she'd be missed but there was a lot decisions to be made and they were still a bit out. Interns didn't make much, she made more working Kallisti. But that was for later. "I'm good. I'm supposed to be here don't have a final till next week."

Marta smiled at Elyse, happy that she didn't have to hide here. She was even more happy that she'd talk to Ricky. She really liked it here. She didn't feel out of place. She felt welcomed. Marta gave Elyse a hug and turned back to Sterling as Elyse went back to her table. She giggled at the mention of Splash's vest.

"It's not just to hide her. It's true. She brought me here when the panic attack started because she knew Elyse was here."

Marta was feeling comfortable enough with Sterling to meet the others, but she wanted to get the contacts out. "Okay - but I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick."

Marta grabbed her backpack and went to the bathroom with Splash. She pulled out her contact case and solution. Washing her hands first, she pulled the contact lenses out, and smiled at the sight of her golden eyes before putting the contact supplies back in her bag. She felt a lot better.

Marta went back out to the lounge and smiled at Elyse before going back to Sterling. "Okay - lets go meet them." She took Sterling's hand and began to pull her to her feet.

Anna smiled, glad that Juls was going to stick around. Juls was working her way through college, but honestly Anna hoped when would stay here at Kallisti. She was family, and even if families grew apart, you still missed them.

"Good, because I need to share the gossip," Anna grinned and leaned in close. "So on our day off, I met Elyse and this guy was not dealing with the cold well. I wasn't either because the cold sucks, but that's not the point. Anyways, we invite him in for coffee, you to be nice. He buys us coffee and we spend the whole day with guy." She paused. "Turns out, he's looking for Nox, now - don't worry we didn't give him anything on Nox - I sent Nox his information and let him deal with it. Elyse trusted him too - something about her wolf abilities. And she was eventually told that he was what he said he was. But he's a doctor - pediatrician...super cute...and very kind."

Marta was acclimating well, and that meant a lot to Elyse. Elyse couldn't remember a time when the girl had been so excited. Elyse could smell her contentment. Sterling was the perfect girl to help Marta come out of her shell. She was more than convinced that this would be good for Marta. She would advocate this to Ricky. He would likely take little convincing.

She went back to their table and Anna was leaning across the table talking to Juls in hushed tones. Elyse rolled her eyes and sat down. "Cade? See - she's smitten."

Marta came back into the lounge and Elyse saw that she had taken her contacts out. Her joy was completely evident on her face as she went back to Sterling and began to pull the other girl to her feet. It was such a change from her usual mood.

Marta came back with golden eyes proclaiming herself a wolfkin. Though the others didn't really know what that meant, and neither did Sterling -- not really. Only that she was somehow connected to wolves like Elyse. No one asked, and Nox didn't divulge much information, only enough that they all respected each person.

Sterling took her over to the rest of the kids and made the introductions. "Everyone, this is Marta, she's good friends with Elyse. And her furry friend is Splash. Marta, this is Olivia, she's not really a kid. She's kinda like our proctor. There is Emma and Sophia. That's Noah and Jonathan." Sterling pointed to the boy sitting at a table by himself. "That's Liam, not to be confused with the other Liam who isn't here yet. He'll be sitting over by me. Liam's head in books all day -- he's trying to graduate so he can get a job." Ashton wasn't there, and neither were the twins. "The little ones are Arabella, Seraphina and Genevieve, but only Sera has any real lessons, Liv takes the other two to the side to read and play."

She turned to Marta with a smile. "We are missing Morgan and Mackenzie, they might not show up today. They don't live with them, but they came from a bad place too, still don't have a home or parents, but Nox hasn't given up hope yet. They are safe though, Zeke takes good care of them -- and all the others too." Sterling said without taking a breath. "And like I said Liam isn't here. He's at work. Real work. He won't be here for another hour or so."

It was a lot. They were a lot. And the numbers only kept growing. Nox kept finding new kids and down trodden to take in. He didn't seem to have the heart to say no. It was going to get expensive.

"Doesn't he sound like a doll. And he's looking for Nox? And you say he's a doctor for kids?" Juls laughed. "Might be a match made in heaven. Nox has a need for doctors. What's he looking for Nox for exactly? I'm sure it has nothing to do with anything good."

Marta followed Sterling to the other group, nothing that there were a lot of them. It seemed like during the day Kallisti was almost a day care center. Marta counted nine kids. They all seemed to be taken care of at least. That made Marta happy. She pet Splash idly on the head. Splash was good with kids. She went to school with Marta every day and got along well with anyone - unless they intended Marta harm. Splash was a good judge of character, and Marta could always keep her on the straight and narrow.

"Hello!," Marta said, waving her hand joyfully. "You said two of the ones that didn't come don't live with them - do they all live together?" she said, and then turned quickly to the group. "I'm sorry - I shouldn't talk like you're not here like that. I didn't mean any harm."

Splash rested her head against Marta's leg, reminding Marta that she was okay. Marta probably hadn't done anything wrong with her statement, but she tended to always think that she had. At least she wasn't feeling the panic well up. Her question really had been an innocent one.[/color]
