Ahhh, thank you for those explanations Asc.
I’m glad they stayed away from CGI for that too. I thought the outfit could have looked more macabre, it didn’t look like skin to me aside from some of the adornments looking like piercings (which I did notice on first watch). In the interview Jaxen shared it mentions the spine looking like stretched faces and stuff, which I didn’t notice… though now I looked at a still and I can see the spine is all noses. I thought it was interesting he described it as neat and trim, which was exactly why I thought it didn’t look like skin, haha.
The eyes were super intense, I don’t think the actor blinked that entire scene. I was convinced they were gonna axe that part of the story for practical reasons, so I was both surprised and delighted to see it despite it not being how I would have imagined it. Can’t fault the scene itself. I’d be curious to see it in old tongue.
