Biography

Allan Rykovi was born to Russian diplomats, Sawa and Tatiana Rykovi, stationed in Great Britain before the annexation of Europe by the ASU/CCD. An only child, Allan grew up under strict parental expectations, which he frequently rebelled against. Allan’s early life was marked by strained relationships, particularly with his demanding father, Sawa, and his emotionally distant mother, Tatiana. Raised by caretakers, Allan sought to assert his independence through academic pursuits, personal rebellion, and defiance of his parents’ political ideals.

Despite his rocky upbringing, Allan excelled academically. He pursued degrees in law, economics, and philosophy while working as a secretary at a law firm to appease his parents. However, his true passion lay in philosophy, yoga, and veganism—lifestyles adopted in defiance of his family’s expectations.

Allan’s personal life was tumultuous. He was openly bisexual, a fact that created further friction with his conservative parents. Allan’s relationships, including an engagement to Bethany Foster, ended tragically when she was killed during a mugging incident. Unbeknownst to Allan at the time, the incident triggered his latent ability to channel, marking the first manifestation of his supernatural powers.

Abilities and Awakening

Allan’s abilities emerged during the traumatic night of Bethany’s death, when a sudden gust of wind—manifested unconsciously—killed both Bethany and her attacker. Months later, Allan’s powers resurfaced in a near-fatal accident, where he instinctively manipulated air and force to save himself from being hit by a drunk driver.

Haunted by guilt and confusion, Allan spiraled into depression and attempted suicide. However, his powers intervened, softening his fall and saving his life. This incident led to his detainment in a secret facility, where he was studied and trained by the Ascendancy’s forces.

Allan’s talents flourished under rigorous testing and therapy. His studies in philosophy allowed him to develop a meditative technique he called “The Void,” a method that enabled him to control his powers by focusing emotion into an internal flame. This approach was later adopted by other trainees. Allan’s intelligence, adaptability, and unique methods attracted the attention of Nikolai Brandon, the Ascendancy himself, leading to private discussions and further training.

The Nine Rods of Dominion

Allan rose to prominence as one of the Nine Rods of Dominion, a group tasked with protecting the Ascendancy and enforcing his will. Despite his aversion to politics and warfare, Allan’s abilities made him an invaluable asset. He played a key role in several high-profile events, including defending the Ascendancy during the Mist Creature incident.
