The Sandman
#1
The interweb is abuzz with Netflix's the Sandman - a show based off the comic of the same name. I never read the comic. Was never into comics really. But these ones are popular. Honestly, they don't look half bad. I haven't seen the show either. Axed Netflix a while back.

But you have to be fucking kidding me that almost the exact same time I unveil Adrian's alter ego as dreamworld Sandman, the show comes out. That sounds like my luck.

Im not ripping anything off. I swear. Don't worry. I have no qualms about ripping off good work. *wink and will do so without shame. But this time, I'm not doing it.  Hah

I haven't read the comics but I follow Neil Gaiman on twitter and I've been anticipating the show for a while. I'm about halfway through, and if it makes you feel any better, Dream in the show isn't remotely like Adrian or his dream persona. That is some hilarious timing though. Serves you right for making us wait so long for the reveal Wink

I've read some of the graphic novels. The Netflix series was absolutely incredible. Blew me away.

As in, even if you *DO* choose to 'steal' from it (pay homage to , be inspired by ;-) ), it would be nothing but great.

Though, as you say, they are not the same person.

I kind of wanted to watch it since it has pretty good reviews. Ironically enough, I've seen some reviewers say that the show is TOO MUCH like a page by page copy of the comics. Which I find hilarious. There just is no pleasing fandoms.

Yeah, I find that complaint ridiculous. I *LIKE* when the source material is respected. If it is even BETTER (*cough* watchmen squid ending *cough*) that's great.

But i loved how faithful it was and how it deepened the world and the emotional heft. Gaiman was heavily involved and his opinion respected, so I imagine that played a role (*cough* WOT on prime *cough*)

Some fans like to bitch about everything.
