Mikhail Sergeyev
Mikhail grew up in Zamoskvoreche district, amid the squalor and crime and violence. His father was just muscle, a grunt for the Solntsevskaya Bratva, the largest crime family in Russia at the time. The family had amassed powerful ties to the government (all the way to the top) and to the new crop of billionaire oligarchs that sprung up after the fall of the Soviet Union. But with Nikolai Brandon’s rise came the Solntsevskaya Bratva’s fall. He lost both parents by the time he was 16. These days Mik is an informant among the new criminal families of Moscow.
Channeling
Mik discovered he could channel after he was jumped by some gopniks. He survived the Sickness, able to channel when he flicks his lighter. He’s chaotic, and enjoys channeling in public — not necessarily to show off, but just to see people’s reactions when something unexpected happens. He has a particular proclivity for flames.
The Lady
As far as Mik is concerned, everything in life is part of one big cosmic joke. The funniest (or saddest, depending on his mood) part of it all is that most people don’t even realize it. So he has his fun. He gets his things and likes them. But he’s not attached to anything. He’s not surprised when it leaves. His understanding of this cosmic chaos takes the form of Lady Luck, who he sees as in the form of women he has previously encountered. It’s where he interprets his gift of the One Power comes from.
