Born to Crimean refugees in an abandoned house near Chernobyl, Nazariy’s early life was marked by poverty, isolation, and eerie phenomena. His family struggled to survive in the toxic remnants of the Zone, raising animals and cultivating poisoned soil. Over time, strange occurrences began to surround him: animals dying inexplicably, crops mutating, and a pervasive sense of unease.
Accused by his father of bringing sickness and rot, Nazariy became increasingly isolated. After his only friend vanished and rumors of his “curse” spread through the village, he was shunned by the community. His parents eventually succumbed to illness—likely radiation-induced cancer—leaving him alone.

Efforts to redeem himself by caring for the land only deepened local suspicion. When an elderly villager publicly branded him as cursed, the whispers turned violent. A mob burned down his home, forcing Nazariy to flee.
He now lives as an outcast within the ruins of Chernobyl, among illegal settlers, criminals, and the forgotten. Haunted by a mysterious connection to the land and its decay, Nazariy remains uncertain of his true nature—but the Zone seems to whisper back.
