Hans Christian Andersen

The Andersen family was hardly a family of note until Jonas Collin discovered Hans Christian in the year 1819. Hans was born to Hans Andersen, Sr. and Anne Marie Andersen in 1905. They were not wealthy, but were able to get Hans Jr. in a boarding school for the privileged, leaving speculation that he was an illegitimate son of Danish royalty.

In 1819, Hans moved to Copenhagen to work as an actor where he met Jonas Collin. Collin urged Hans to start writing and sponsored him as a patron. Little did Hans know, but Collin was a member of a secret society known as the Atharim. Recognizing potential in the young man, Collin brought Hans into the fold, telling him the truth that he was an illegitimate son of the king.

Hans joined the organization, eventually using his writing skill to share stories through fairy tales about the dangers of monsters and those who could use the god powers in stories such as The Snow Queen. Officially Hans Christian Andersen died in 1875 childless, but he actually had one illegitimate son that would carry on his legacy.

Modern Times

Since the time of Hans Christian Andersen, the family remained in the Atharim although outside the secret society, their connection to the writer was kept secret. The family remained small and currently has only one family unit. The parents Peter and Elsa and their daughter Elyse.

Elsa’s Death & The Hunt For Elyse

As she would grow older, Elyse would develop the abilities of a wolfkin. As Atharim, she would be considered dangerous and would be condemned to death. Elyse hid this from her family and would move to Moscow, continuing to hunt. After meeting Nox Durante, she would decide to call her mother and tell her of her wolfkin abilities. Elsa, filled with compassion for her daughter, urged her to keep it a secret and come home. Elyse refused. Elsa kept her secret. Peter, eventually wondering at Elyse’s silence, confronted his wife about his missing daughter. Elsa eventually caved in, and told Peter everything. An Old World Atharim, Peter killed his wife as a traitor and left Moscow to find his daughter.
