Background and Early Life
Tatyana Gorodetsky was born in 2026 to Makari and Nadia Gorodetsky. Her mother passed away when Tatyana was just two years old, leaving her father to raise her alone. Makari, a skilled and loyal man, worked as the head of security for the Vasiliev family, overseeing the safety of their business operations at Nebesa’s Gate Casino. His role involved protecting the Vasiliev family and pressuring high-profile clients to pay their gambling debts. His diligence and commitment to his job earned him the respect of the Vasilievs, and even the friendship of the patriarch, Konstantin Vasiliev.
From a young age, Makari began training Tatyana in various martial arts and self-defense techniques, a decision that was met with disapproval from the Vasiliev family. Despite their sexist views, Konstantin, understanding that the training did not interfere with Makari’s duties, allowed Tatyana to continue. Tatyana spent her youth learning a variety of martial arts, including taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, muay Thai, and aikido. Her time spent with her father in individual training sessions deepened her desire to follow in his footsteps and work security at the casino—something she was repeatedly told would never happen
The Vasiliev Family and Conflict
As Tatyana grew up at Nebesa’s Gate Casino, she became more familiar with the Vasiliev family, though they generally viewed her with indifference. The exceptions were Grisha, who treated her kindly, and Sofia, who harbored a deep animosity toward her. This animosity reached its peak during the Nebesa’s Gate Christmas Party in 2044 when Sofia, who was attempting to gain favor with a young man, grew jealous when the man asked Tatyana to dance.
Shortly after the party, tragedy struck when Makari was killed in a car accident. Konstantin, recognizing Makari’s loyalty to the family, extended his condolences to Tatyana and offered her a position at the casino restaurant along with an apartment to live in. Disappointed by the offer, Tatyana requested a position within the security team. She demonstrated her skills, but Konstantin coldly rejected her, reminding her that she should be grateful for the position offered to her.
Despite this, Tatyana continued to sneak around the casino, eavesdropping on important business dealings. Sofia, fueled by jealousy and hatred, spread rumors about Tatyana’s ungratefulness and violent tendencies. These rumors, combined with Tatyana’s growing resentment toward Konstantin, started to isolate her further within the Vasiliev family.
Downward Spiral & Disgrace
atyana’s grief over losing her father, compounded by the increasing pressure of Sofia’s rumors, led her into a deep depression. Grisha, sensing her distress, introduced her to a drug that would numb her emotions. As Tatyana became more dependent on the drug, Sofia’s rumors of her being a violent and untrustworthy junkie spread throughout the casino.
Tatyana’s life took a devastating turn when a knife went missing from the casino’s armory. The evidence seemed to point to Tatyana, and when the knife was found in her possession, Konstantin, having had enough, dismissed her from the casino. He cast her out with the words, “You are a disgrace to your father’s name.”
Homelessness & A Turning Point
Now homeless, with no family and no support, Tatyana wandered the streets. She was left with only the clothes on her back and the drugs she had been using. Consumed by grief, she became increasingly reliant on the pills. She would often scavenge, steal, and use her fighting skills to survive in the harsh world of street life. She also frequently visited Three Trinities Haven Church, where she could receive food, clothing, and blankets.
Tatyana’s life began to change on one particular day when, while walking through the streets after visiting the church, she was followed by three men who attempted to rob her. Although high and slower in her reactions, her fighting instincts kicked in. She fought back, overpowering them, but after the confrontation, she felt the effects of her drug use. As she was eating afterward, she discovered a strange coin on the ground—a coin with a grinning face. This coin would mark the beginning of an unknown chapter in her life.
