Marta Gonzalez

Early Life and Trafficking

At the age of 11, Marta was sold by her uncle, Roberto, to the Nuevo Leon Cartel. This marked the beginning of a traumatic period in her life. However, her fate took a drastic turn when she was rescued during a Quetzalcoatlus hunt by two individuals: Jacinda Cross and Enrique Salguero. Enrique, moved by her circumstances, took Marta in with the intention of helping her heal.

Despite his kindness, Marta initially mistook Enrique’s efforts as a trap, fearing that he might eventually hurt her. Her deep mistrust stemmed from her previous experiences with betrayal. Shortly after her arrival, Marta’s uncle Roberto came to claim her, but Enrique intervened with the help of Camila, a woman who had become the first person Marta trusted.

Healing and Trust

As time passed, Enrique continued to demonstrate kindness, helping Marta start her education through online learning and introducing her to various activities, including trips to the zoo. During these formative months, Enrique also supported Marta in discovering her interest in firearms. On her 12th birthday, Marta began to understand that Enrique truly cared for her, and this realization marked the beginning of her emotional healing.

Relocation to Moscow and Discovery of Wolfkin Identity

After Marta’s adoption was legally completed, Enrique and Marta moved to Moscow. Enrique supported Marta’s desire to learn archery and took her on a trip to learn how to hunt with a bow. During their time in Russia, Marta began exhibiting signs of her wolfkin abilities, claiming that she could hear the wolves communicating with her and often spoke about them. Enrique, recognizing these signs, understood that Marta was a wolfkin—someone who shares a spiritual and physical connection with wolves.

In Moscow, they met Sierra Lupita and Elyse Andersen, two other wolfkin, who moved in with Enrique and helped train Marta in the basics of her abilities. Over time, Marta’s wolf-like traits became more pronounced, including her eyes turning gold. Despite her growing appreciation for her new eye color, Marta began wearing color contacts to fit in better with the human world.

Marta’s wolf companion, Spashes Like a Fish (Splash), was introduced to her during this period, further strengthening her connection to the wolfkin world. The wolves, recognizing her growing bond with them, began referring to her as Windsong.

Personal Struggles and PTSD

Marta’s brief time with the Nuevo Leon Cartel left her with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which she continues to work through with the help of a therapist. She attends therapy sessions weekly, making significant progress in overcoming the emotional scars of her past. Throughout this process, Enrique has remained a constant support, earning Marta’s trust and being a key figure in her healing journey. Along with PTSD, she struggles with panic attacks – a symptom of the wolf within her trying to take control.

Despite the challenges of PTSD, Marta’s progress has been remarkable. She has grown more comfortable with social interactions and has even begun attending physical school. Marta’s life, once marked by trauma and fear, is now characterized by personal growth.

Another Family

Marta eventually found herself at Kallisti House of Burlesque. She began to have a panic attacks, and was led there by Splash who could sense Elyse’s presence there. There she came into contact with Sterling and the Blackthorn kids, who accepted her quickly. From then on, her healing progress would accelerate rapidly.

Through this, she met Hayden Sebastian, who has helped with counseling and Nox Durante. At a meeting between Nox and his half brother, Cade, Marta smelled blood, leading to a fight between Enrique, Nox, and a Dreykan. Nox was injured, and Marta blamed herself until Nox reassured her that it was not her fault. Before the altercation, Nox handed her his adopted baby girl Lily. It was at that moment that Marta found what she needed to remember her humanity. She would no longer have panic attacks.

Oracle

With her newfound healing in place, Marta’s sadness and fear of the cartels was replaced with anger. No longer able to accept that others would suffer the fate she did, Marta decided it was time to take the fight to the cartels. She adopted the hacker alias “Oracle” stating that “I will no longer be silent.” So far she has only offered hope to the victims, but through contact with Sage Parker, she hopes to learn the skills to bring down the cartels and find justice for their victimes
